 New York's ambitious climate goals are threatened by the proposed closure of the Indian Point nuclear power plant. Free from hyperbole, we will review the facts on the human health, climate, and the environment from the changes in the downstate New York grid. We will evaluate the temporal and logistical challenges for renewable resources to dig NY out of this self-inflicted disaster, and what citizens can do to prevent it.
Isuru Seneviratne is an energy investor and climate advocate with 15 years' experience. He is a chapter developer and congressional liaison for Citizens’ Climate Lobby and is pursuing a Masters in Sustainability at Harvard Extension School.
