Event Me Privacy Policy
This is the website of EventMe Invitations Inc (Event Me). Our corporate postal
address is 800 Third Avenue, Suite #1266; New York, NY 10022 (USA). We can be reached via
email at invite@EventMe.com or you can
reach our representatives by telephone at (USA) (862) 308-0266. The following
Privacy Policy explains our information gathering and dissemination practices.
It refers to registered subscribers ("Subscribers"), event organizers using our
service ("Event Organizers") or both ("Users").
If you choose to visit Event Me, your visit and any dispute over privacy
is subject to this Privacy Policy and our User Agreement, including limitations
on damages, arbitration of disputes, and application of the law of the state of
New York (USA). Click here for the full User
Agreement. If you have any concern about privacy at Event Me, please send
a thorough description to invite@EventMe.com,
and we'll try to resolve it. If you want to cancel your Event Me
subscribership, you can do so by sending a email with "unsubscribe" in the
subject line to invite@EventMe.com.
Our privacy policy may change from time to time. If we make any substantive
changes to it in the future, we will notify subscribers who have agreed to
receive the Event Me newsletter through that newsletter. For those Users
who have not agreed to accept the newsletter, substantive changes will be
posted on the site in this location, and the date of the changes will be noted
on the Web site for a period of time. Your continued use of the site after the
changes are posted constitutes your agreement to the changes with regard to
information collected in the past and in the future from you. If you do not
agree to the changes, you may cancel your Usership as described above.
Please be aware that the Event Me service is not intended for children
under the age of 13. If you are a minor (under the age of 18), you can use this
service only in conjunction with your parents or guardians. If you are an
international User (non-US-American), by registering with Event Me and
using the service, you agree that Event Me may collect, use, and transfer
your Data as described in this Privacy Policy.
1 Information we collect
1.1 All users
We automatically track certain information based upon your behavior on our
site. This information may include the URL that you just came from (whether
this URL is on our site or not), the URL you go to next (whether this URL is on
our site or not), the browser you are using, the preferred language selected in
your browser, and your IP address.
Event Me places a "cookie" in the browser files of your computer. The
cookie may contain the name you have provided us upon registration and your
preferred language when visiting our site. Event Me uses cookies to
personalize our page so that we can better serve you when you return to our
site. We also use a cookie to track your session with us after you log in to
prevent unauthorized access to your data. This cookie is a "session cookie,"
meaning that it is automatically deleted from your hard drive at the end of a
session. Your session times out automatically after a few hours without
activity or it ends when you log out or close your browser program.
When you make a reservation or buy tickets for an event on our site,
we record your reservation/order information. This information is provided to
the Event Organizers as a guest list, including your email address and name. We
also record your computer's IP address along with your reservation/order in
order to prevent abuse of our system. (We do not share that information with
anyone unless required to do so by law.)
If you send us personal correspondence, such as emails or letters, or if
other Users or third parties send us correspondence about your activities
related to our Service, we may collect such information in a file specific to
you.
When you send messages to others through our service (e.g., an Event Me
invitation or a reminder), we may collect and retain the email addresses of
senders and recipients and a copy of that message. The email addresses of
your contacts will only be used once to send your message and will NOT be added
to our list.
1.2 Subscribers
When you register with the Event Me® service as a
Subscriber, our registration form requires you to give us your email address,
geographic information corresponding to the region in which you want to be
invited to events (postal/zip code and country), gender, month and year of
birth, and a name for us to address you by (e.g., your nickname or first name).
We also ask for optional profile data such as your activity interests, event
preferences, general interests, and demographic information. We automatically save your email address in connection with
events that you have been invited to. Please understand that we may add your
account to a general exclusion list if Event Organizers provide us with
negative feedback.
Event Me may track and keep a record of which of our emails you open and
what links in such emails you click on as well as the time of such incidents.
This data can be related to your subscriber account and your profile
information and helps us to improve our service. We never share this
information with Organizers, advertisers, or other parties unless required to
do so by law. However, we may aggregate such information in anonymized
form to inform Organizers about the success of their promotion.
We will NOT collect any information about you from other sources and add it
to our account information. Event Me will not correlate your Data with any
information held by third parties, such as advertising companies.
Event Me's sole source of Data is its Subscribers.
1.3 Event Organizers
Any event organizer who wants to invite Event Me Subscribers is required
to give us his/her name, street address, and phone number. Event Me will
also collect other information that event organizers volunteer to us through
use of our service, such as the information included in invitations and
reminders and the information needed to create Invitation Lists. You may always
choose not to provide such voluntary information to us; however, this may limit
our ability to provide you with a specific service.
We save your Invitation Lists of events that you promote through our Service.
We also collect Subscribers' comments about you and your events when
Subscribers provide them to us. If you establish a credit account with us to
pay the fees we charge, we will of course collect some additional information,
including billing address, credit card number and expiration date, and tracking
information for checks or money orders.
2 Our use of your information
Our primary goal in collecting personal information is to provide you with a
smooth, efficient, and customized experience. This allows us to provide
services and features that most likely meet your needs, and to customize our
service to make your experience easier.
The information described above in the Section entitled "Information
Collected" is referred to collectively in this policy as "Data."
2.1 All Users
We use the collected information to match Subscribers with Events, to forward
Event Organizers' invitations to Subscribers, and to operate the Event Me
service. In addition, we may use the information to provide personalized
advertising to our Users.
We use contact information if we need to contact Users when necessary. Any
email addresses and information collected during a promotional contest will be
recorded separately and will not be used for future communications, unless the
email owner has subscribed to Event Me services and/or opted to receive
information.
We use your IP Address to help diagnose problems with our server, to prevent
abuse of our server and/or your Email address, and to administer our Web site.
We use information about your behavior on our site to do internal research on
our Users' demographics, interests, and behavior to better understand and serve
you and other Users. You agree that we may use personally identifiable
information about you to improve our marketing and promotional efforts, to
analyze site usage, improve our content and product offerings, and customize
our site's content, layout, and services. These uses improve our site and
better tailor it to meet your needs.
We use information in the file we maintain about you, and other information
we obtain from your current and past activities on the Site, to resolve
disputes, troubleshoot problems and enforce our User Agreement. At times, we
may look across multiple Users to identify problems or resolve disputes.
2.2 Subscribers
We use only profile information that Subscribers actively provide us with to
match them with Event Organizers' events and to create targeted Invitation
Lists. We may use an exclusion list based on feedback of Event Organizers to
further refine the Invitation List. Subscriber profile information is always
private and can only be seen by the Subscribers themselves, although Invitation
Lists may reveal some aggregate information (e.g., the average age or gender
ratio) about all Subscribers on the List.
2.3 Event Organizers
We use only the event profile information with which you actively provide us
to match your events and your preferences for attendees with the profile
information of Subscribers to create targeted Invitation Lists. We use your
financial information, including credit card information, to verify your name,
address, and other information, as well as to bill you for your use of our
services.
3 Our disclosure of your information
Our Subscribers' information is crucial to our business, and we do not sell
or rent any personally identifiable information about you to any third party.
However, the following describes some of the ways that your personally
identifiable information may be disclosed:
Event Me cooperates with law enforcement inquiries, as well as other
third parties, to: (1) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal
process served on Event Me; (2) act under exigent circumstances to protect
the personal safety of its Users or the public; and (3) protect and defend the
rights or property of Event Me. This includes exchanging information with
other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk
reduction.
Certain technical processing of email messages and their content may be
required to: (1) send and receive messages; (2) conform to connecting networks'
technical requirements; (3) conform to the limitations of the Service; or (4)
conform to other similar requirements.
Third-party service providers may perform functions on our behalf. Examples
include sending email, analyzing data, providing marketing assistance,
processing billing and payments, and providing customer service. They have
access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not
use it for other purposes.
We aggregate (gather up Data across all User accounts) personally
identifiable information and disclose such information in a non-personally
identifiable manner to advertisers and other third parties for other marketing
and promotional purposes. However, in these situations, we do not disclose to
these entities any information that could be used to identify a User
personally. Information about a User's visit to this site, such as number of
times an ad is viewed, may be used to serve ads to Users on this site. Certain
information, such as email addresses and passwords are never disclosed to
marketing advertisers. Similarly, Event Me discloses aggregated User statistics
(for example, 71% of Subscribers are 20-40 years old) in order to describe
ourselves to prospective partners, advertisers, other third parties, Users, and
for other lawful purposes.
It is possible that Event Me could merge with or be acquired by another
business entity. Should such a combination occur, you should expect that
Event Me would share some or all User Data in order to continue to provide
the service. You will receive notice of such event (to the extent it occurs) as
provided in the Subscriber Agreement ("Notice") and we will require that the
new combined entity follows the practices disclosed in this Privacy Policy.

4 Your use of other Users' information
Event Me and our Users do not tolerate spam. Therefore, without limiting
the foregoing, you are not licensed to add an Event Me User - even
Subscribers who have responded to your invitation or Event Organizers who have
invited you to an event - to your distribution list (email or physical mail)
without that person's express consent after adequate disclosure. To report
Event Me-related Spam to us, please send an email to invite@EventMe.com.
5 Use of email tools
Should you decide to contact us through our contact form, we require your
name and email address and will only use that information to send you a reply.
If you provide the email address of a friend as part of a referral program,
Event Me will not sell, disclose or share the email addresses and
additional information you provide to any third party, except to the extent
that Event Me shares the email addresses on a strictly confidential basis with
the service provider that assists Event Me in forwarding such emails on
your behalf. Please refer and send an email only to those persons with whom you
have either personal or professional relationships and who you feel would be
interested in hearing about Event Me. We do not permanently store the
email messages or the email addresses and we do not use that email addresses
for any purpose other than to send your email.
6 Control of your password
Your Event Me Subscriber account is password-protected so that you and
only you have access to this personal information. We recommend that you do not
divulge your password to anyone. Event Me will never ask you for your
password in an unsolicited phone call or unsolicited email. Also remember to
log out of your Event Me account and close your browser window when you
have finished your work. This is to ensure that others cannot access your
personal information and correspondence if you share a computer with someone
else or are using a computer in a public place.
Ultimately, you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your
password. If you lose control of your password, you may lose substantial
control over your personally identifiable information. Therefore, if your
password has been compromised for any reason, you should immediately change
your password.
7 Reviewing and changing your personally identifiable information
Subscribers can submit, review, and change their profile information by
following these steps:
1. Visit www.EventMe.com and log in.
2. Click on the link to the corresponding section of your profile.
3. Change the relevant information and submit your changes.
You can change all profile information using this method.
Upon your request, we will deactivate your Subscriber account and remove all
profile information from our active databases. To make this request, simply
send an email with "unsubscribe" in the subject line to invite@EventMe.com.
We will retain in our files information that you have asked us to remove in
order to, for example, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems or enforce our
Subscriber Agreement. Furthermore, some such information is never completely
removed from our databases due to technical and legal constraints, for
instance, stored "back up" systems. Therefore, you should not expect that all
of your personally identifiable information will be completely removed from our
databases in response to your requests.
8 Other information collectors
Except as otherwise expressly included in this Privacy Policy, this document
only addresses the use and disclosure of information that we collect from you.
To the extent that you disclose your information to other parties, whether they
are Subscribers or Event Organizers on our Site or other sites throughout the
Internet, different rules may apply to their use or disclosure of the
information that you disclose to them.
Third-party advertising companies used by us may read or set cookies on your
hard drive, use pixel tags, track the ads you view, or collect other
information about you. While we may use cookies and pixel tags in other parts
of our Site and in emails, cookies and pixel tags from our ad companies are
registered by them, and we do not have access to this information.
Since Event Me does not control the privacy policies of third parties,
you are subject to the privacy policies of all third parties. The same is true
for other websites that we link to throughout our Site and our Emails.
9 Security
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be
100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information,
Event Me does not promise, and you should not expect, that your personally
identifiable information or private communications will always remain private.
Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its
security on our system.
