Who is Lawyers Without Borders? Lawyers Without Borders, Inc. (LWOB) is a non-profit (501c 3) organization that channels legal pro bono services and resources into human rights initiatives and capacity building projects around the world. It educates and trains legal professionals and increases their awareness of how their skill sets can be of service in the human rights and rule of law initiatives, providing them with opportunities to serve in a variety of settings. It is a portal for needs and organizations in search of legal re-sources and a vehicle for addressing Human Rights Issues through traditional and innovative legal channels. Through the promotion and protection of human justice at the international level, LWOB has acted as a global ambassador for the legal profession. Advances in communication and technology have enabled LWOB to access geographical areas that were previously isolated from developed economies and directly service citizens in those areas. LWOB has now become a global organization, connecting regions of the world to highly skilled lawyers with a personal interest in international development and public welfare initiatives.
