Recovering the Lost Origins of the Black Arts Movement

The Black Arts Movement inspired the creation of some 800 black theaters and cultural centers, where a generation of writers and artists forged a new and enduring cultural vision. Sarah Lawrence College Professor Komozi Woodward will explore its centers in Greenwich Village, Harlem, and San Francisco.
