Clementine Paddleford was the first journalist in American history to take food seriously. From the 1940s to the 1960s, her legendary columns pioneered a smart reporting style that elevated food writing from dull home economics to critical acclaim. With Kelly Alexander, the former senior editor at Saveur; author Betsy Wade; Colman Andrews, columnist at the late Gourmet; Molly O'Neill, journalist; and Andrew F. Smith, Food Studies faculty. Sponsored by the New School Food Studies Program. | |
